Government mandates for the use of
health information technology (HIT) pose significant challenges
for inpatient and ambulatory care providers. Many lack the
internal resources and the technology infrastructure to
successfully navigate this transformation. The financial
requirements and the complexity of the stimulus opportunity pose
additional issues. The further need to have the system available
365 days a year, 24 hours each day, secure from threats and
compliant with regulations is even more daunting. Added to that
is the need to archive data and provide reporting to satisfy
meaningful-use requirements. The cumulative requirement could be
overwhelming for many.
The preferable way to deal with
the requirements of this mandate is through a single solution
that resolves every prerequisite. Then providers are free do
what they do best -
that is to provide the best possible care for patients.
A worst scenario is for physicians and hospital administrators
to become IT technicians.
Intersect is uniquely qualified to
be your technology partner and fulfill all of your IT
requirements.

Systems for Hospitals
Intersect's goal is to enable your hospital to improve the
quality and safety of patient care through the use of
technology. We offer a core clinical system augmented with functionality that includes admission, discharge, transfer, registration, and bed tracking, clinical documentation for physicians, nurses, and ancillary
services; CPOE (computerized provider order entry); electronic medication administration record; clinical pharmacy workflow management; coding and reimbursement data for patient financial systems; standards-based integration with laboratory, radiology and
other health information systems. Clinicians have a complete view of
patients and their data. A number of deployment options are available
including on site, hosted or co-located.
Systems for Physicians
Every
physician practices medicine in their own unique way.
As a result, a one-size-fits-all system rarely fits anyone
well. That is why Intersect offers customized practice
management and electronic medical records (EMR)
solutions designed to work the way you practice. Our goal is
to enable you to build your practice through optimized
workflows, simple procedures and ready information. Once
deployed, you can count on us for training and responsive
support.
Grant and Stimulus Assistance
In the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
(ARRA), more money was allocated for health care than for
any other initiative. Nearly $20 billion was allotted to
health care information technology (HIT). Hospitals are
eligible for several million dollars. Physicians can receive
up to $45,000. Yet, like most government programs, the HITECH act is complex and difficult to interpret and
understand. Intersect offers trained,
qualified and dedicated professionals to help hospitals and
physicians identify, and
qualify for this assistance.
IT Infrastructure
A reliable IT infrastructure is more than mission-critical
to healthcare providers. It is life-critical. The IT
infrastructure must be available 24X7, and in some instances
across multiple facilities at different geographical
locations.
Confidential patient data must be shared between departments
within each facility without latency. Lives depend on the
correct information reaching the caregiver.
Intersect has the resources to architect, deploy and
perpetually manage the infrastructure required to meet this
mandate.
